ABsorbent
vs. ADsorbent Fibers ~ Do not be confused . . .
· ABsorbent and ADsorbent are two
separate words:
· With ADsorption, liquids, gases and
particles form a layer on the surface of the fiber
· In ABsorption, those same
substances literally move inside the fiber.
Sorbent products that are
labeled, "Special Blend" are an inferior version of an ABsorbent,
whereas Slurry Solidify is a 100% Super ABsorbent Polymer.
To know the difference between the two products is vital to cost
(absorption capacity per dosage), performance, and compliance.
ABsorbent
explained
By definition, ABsorbent is the
process by which a material absorbs some amount of liquid, particle or gas
into its own chamber. Like a sponge
taking in water, the water penetrates the structure of the absorbent
material. Absorption is a function of the absorbent material and
its ability to hold another substance.
ADsorbent explained
ADsorbent is the process where
the liquid, particle or gas gets accumulated on the surface of a
solid. The substance does not enter the chamber of the ADsorbent material. Instead,
particles, atoms and molecules only adhere to its surface. A good example is static electricity, it is
drawn to the surface of an object and bonds a substance to its surface.
"Special
Blend" products
Special blend products may
be an ABsorbent but they are mineral base, which (by their nature)
provide poor absorption capacity. Additionally, "special
blend" products require larger dosages and they swell
substantially - which increases the weight and
volume of the solidified wastewater, which increases handling and
disposal costs. "Slurry Solidify"
- 100% super ABsorbent polymer
In contrast, Slurry Solidify is
a highly absorbent mix of 100% polymers - use it sparingly!
Substances such as liquids, particles and dust are "chemically"
absorbed into each polymer granular. Super absorbent polymers
(SAP) literally suck-up, drink-in, incorporate and receive-in these substances
AND does not release them.
Features
/ Advantages of Slurry Solidify:
· Extremely
absorbent which requires less of the product to be used
· Weight
and volume of the "absorbed" slurry increases by < 1%
· Encapsulates
(protects) Low Level Radioactive Waste (LLW)
· Versatile
/ Unlimited Range: Absorbs any kind of liquid or semi-liquid on
contact, including:
·
Animal waste, vegetable, mineral,
petroleum, chemical, LLW, etc.
· Picks-up
all liquids, of any viscosity (rinse water to heavy sludge), from any
type of surface
· Rubbing alcohol to
peanut butter . . .
· Virtually
unlimited uses as an ABsorbent that is safe in all applications:
·
Injurious to soil, cement,
asphalt, tile, plants, animals, humans
· Contains
no reactive chemicals, is not toxic, flammable or biodegradable and it
is environmentally safe and friendly
· Requires
considerably less product to be used for the absorption process
· Plus,
Slurry Solidify simply cost less per pound. |
What's
the problem?
"Free Liquids" - the No. 1 Problem of a Landfill
 Fact: Landfills refuse anything
that contains liquids because of the basic problem liquids have on the collection
system of a landfill. A landfill is like a bathtub in the ground and
a bathtub can leak two ways: through a hole in the bottom of its
liner, or it can fill up with fluid and spill over its sides.
With enough liquid already entering the
liner from rainwater and the decomposing of waste, landfill have to
refuse liquids. The only practical way of disposing liquid
waste is to turn the slurry into a solid, which is easy to do, safe,
economical and landfill accepted. |

Coverage
Cost: Super Absorbent Slurry Solidify. Highly
concentrated Non-Toxic Super Absorbent Polymer - Use sparingly!
Under some conditions one pound can
solidify 32 gallons of slurry waste water. Coverage will vary
depending on the solid content and temperature of the water being
treated.
Basic measurement: Add 1 to 2 oz
per gallon of waste liquid, add 1/2 oz per gallon of slurry wastewater. |

DOSAGE AMOUNT "DOUBLED"
By doubling the required amount, this column
shows the
"cost effectiveness" of using Slurry Solidify . . . Even
when too much is added to the slurry.
Effects of increasing the
dosage:
· The
thickness or viscosity of the solidified slurry will be increased
- making it extremely difficult to push a metal rod through the
solidified waste.
·
Volume
and weight of the solidified slurry increases < 1%
