Diamond Cutter Blade - Slices through hard or soft joint sealant material.

Diamond Cutter Blade for cutting-out hard AND soft joint sealant from expansion joints.Thermally Stable Diamond Inserts

  • Resistant to high temperature heating
  • Solid diamond insert maintains its sharp cutting edge
  • Thermally stable chip keeps the blade's metal core from over heating
  • Significantly reduces dragging effect on the blade's metal core

Precision Shaped & Fitted Diamond Chip:

  • High pressure / high temperature (HPHT) solid diamond chip
  • Precision shaped and fitted to resist friction heat build-up
  • Maintains its sharp shape for superior slicing performance & life

Slices . . . As opposed to grinding:

  • Typical diamond segments consists of metal powders and diamond crystals
  • As the metal matrix wears, the diamond crystals fall out and new crystals are exposed
  • This grinding / scratch-away process creates dull cutting or grinding, which creates friction heat . . .

Joint Sealant Cutter Blades

Slices through Hard Polyurea
- or -
Soft 10 - 12 Yr. Old Urethane

Maintains its sharp edge without melting the sealant

PCB Joint Sealant Removal Applications . . .

Removing caulking / expansion joint with a utility knife.Removing caulking or joint sealant from concrete & masonry control joints has always been a slow, labor intensive and unhealthy chore . . .

There has to be a better way . . .

4-1/2" Cutter Blade installed on hand-held angle grinder.

PCB's (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) - Are chemicals that are found in certain caulking and joint sealant compounds.  PCB's have been classified as carcinogenic.

Cutter Blade installed in the Dust Director - Complete blade visiblity, 96%+ debris containment.

Cutter Blade, when used with the Dust Director™ , is an effective, fast, safe and healthy method of removing PCB joint sealant material - Protecting the worker and the work environment against carcinogenic debris from becoming airborne.

The Dust Director provides the operator with complete blade visibility (you will actually see the dust being directed from the diamond blade up into the barrel of the Dust Director).  The Dust Director also accepts 6" blades for recessed joints ( 1-5/8" depth-of-cut).

For additional information on the Dust Director, see Dust Extraction Tools (Top/ Bottom Borders).

Notice the shriveled pieces of caulking - Caulking is not melted.Finished Results . . .
Both sides of the joint are cut with the Diamond Cutter Blade.

  • Joint sealant isn't melted

  • Inside walls are cleaned with one pass of the blade

  • Complete, precise control of the blade:
    - Only removing the joint sealant

Warning:  As effective as the Diamond Cutter is at slicing through the joint sealant material - leaving the inside edge of the expansion joint clean - the diamond chips will completely shatter if they directly hit into the surface of the concrete.  Pay close attention and maintain a steady "straight" line cut along the inside edge of the expansion joint to ensure long blade life.  Recommended Directions:  Slice into the joint sealant and maintain a slow, steady pace as the blade slices easily through the sealant, along the inside edge of the expansion joint, paying close attention to keep the blade from drifting and cutting into the concrete.

As the caulking is cut, a fine edge finish is left.Finished inside edge on the control joint . . .

  • Joint Sealant is cut-out . . .

  • Inside of the joint is scraped clean . . .

  • Joint is Ready To Go . . .

  • All in One Step . . . for a Fast, Professional Finish!

Fast, Professional Finish

You'll quickly notice the ease and smooth cutting characteristics of using the Diamond Cutter Blade.

Want even better results, use the Diamond Cutter on a variable angle grinder.  Typical 4-1/2" angle grinders operate at a "set" speed of 10,000 RPM.  On a variable speed angle grinder, lower the speed dial to 6000 RPM (plus or minus . . .) and you'll further reduce and friction heat by simply lowering the grinder's RPM.  With the lower RPM you'll also notice how smooth the grinder handles and operates . . .

Fast, Professional Finish . . . All In ONE Step!

  • Cutter Blades provide fast, smooth cutting results . . .

  • Cuts along the inside of the joint

  • Remove long sections of "soft" sealant without overheating the blade

  • Easily maintain "straight-line" cutting, along the joint's edge . . .

  • Production speed and ease-of-use are significantly improved

Slices hard or soft joint sealant without melting the sealant . . .
